Job Elements
• To ensure the correct Packaging Materials are ordered to contract volumes and delivered within a timely.
• Ensuring exposure to material obsolescence is kept to a minimum.
• Interface with MRP system (JDE) to ensure correct set up of BOMs, Item Masters, Material Part Codes is maintained.
• Identify when new materials require development and liaise with Packaging Technologist to ensure this is done in time to support production
• Purchase Orders to material suppliers
• Forecasts to suppliers on demand
• Confirmation of material availability for weekly production plan
• Identify critical material deliveries to Team Managers in production and Goods Inwards
• Information on material runs outs for design changes or material changes
• Identification of obsolete materials that need destruction
• To participate in the development of a Lean culture and operational environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Fully understand control systems within manufacturing.
• Previous material planning experience.
• Food / FMCG manufacturing industry experience.
• Lean Processes: - Understanding of Lean Processes
• Highly Computer Literate.
• Experience of MRP systems desirable.
