Full Description:
Experienced Commercial Manager (QS) required to provide contractual and commercial support in respect to client responsibilities for the RSME (Royal School of Military Engineering) contract and to ensure accurate reporting of works additional to the contract.
Responsibilities:
Liaise with client and the Authority over all Commercial matters
To fully understand all implications of the contract and to disseminate information to the relevant individuals
To understand the commercial aspects of the markets within which we operate
To act as focal point for all commercial activities
To collate and maintain business specific commercial information
Manage Commercial processes and procedures to ensure that all out of scope works are priced and claimed for under the correct funding stream
To review costs in liaison with Finance and Operations to ensure contract remains under budget and profitable
Co-ordinate with site & area teams to ensure value for money and maximise growth potential within the contract
Provide Finance team with correct and timely data for monthly invoicing
To coordinate the preparation and submission of Facility Condition Reports on a yearly basis
To make regular personal contact, including and not limited to attending relevant meetings, working groups and forums to ensure unity of purpose for both the BIS staff and the Customer
To take a proactive approach in recommending actions for continuous improvement to the services being delivered
To be aware of and to comply with all Statutory, Company and job specific environmental, safety and quality procedures applicable to the work
Qualifications and Experience:
5 years Commercial Management experience within a similar environment
Successful experience dealing with large value contracts
Sound working knowledge of IT
High analytical and financial skills
Customer care skills
The ability to make decisions through the application of logic and intuition
Good knowledge and understanding of Financial Systems
Ability to controls costs and understands the impact on the wider businesses
A full clean driving licence
Ability to take a strategic approach to business
