| Mechanical Design Technician Overview Leading oilfield services provider trusted to deliver results and improved performance for oil and gas companies around the world. Operating in approximately 80 countries with 80,000 employees, they posted a turnover of £11.64 billion operating revenue for last year. Responsibilities Responsible for mechanical design aspects of tools, test equipment and test fixturing, including the assembly, test and commissioning of such designs. Work under the direction of a Mechanical Engineer in the design of mechanical systems Prepare schematics, diagrams, test schedules, BOMs, assembly procedures, O&M manuals. Prepare procurement specifications, place orders, assemble and test designs Utilize the information resources available through the Intranet and to join the relevant interest groups. Incorporates safe work procedures in all aspects of the job while maintaining a safe work environment. Follows documented QHSE procedures. Encourages safe working in other employees. Keeps minimum QHSE training up to date. Qualifications/Experience Industrial design experience, including drawing office and workshop practice. Pro E Wildfire experience (Training on Pro E can be provided to the successful candidate). Understanding of the design and development cycle leading to manufacture Knowledge and experience with properties of materials, hydrodynamics, elasticity and fatigue would be advantageous. Familiarity with hydraulic systems.
