Key Requirement
To work with and provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) and, the Modification.
Core Responsibilities
• Ensuring that the Primary Sub-contractor achieves aircraft certification leading to registration (a) on the UK CAA Register and, (b) the Military Aircraft Register (Def Stan 05-122).
• Ensuring that the Primary Sub-contractor produces an acceptable Safety Case for the modified aircraft.
• Ensuring that the Primary Sub-contractor develops a Structural Integrity Management Plan that takes into account the Statement of Operation and Intended Usage (SOIU) and identifies the revised aircraft Fatigue Life against the Manufacturers Design Service Goal (DSG).
• Ensuring that the Primary Sub-contractor produces an optimized Maintenance Programme that reflects embodiment of modifications to the baseline aircraft and takes account of the Statement of Operation and Intended Usage (SOIU).
• Ensuring that the Primary Sub-contractor produces a Safety Management System that satisfies the requirements of ICAO Document AN 12/51-07/74 (Dated 7th December 2007).
• Ensuring that the Primary Sub-contractor achieves an EASA Part 145 approval at the location from where the aircraft is to be operated and maintained scoped to include the aircraft type being operated.
• Ensuring that the Primary Sub-contractor achieves an EASA Part M subpart G approval (suitably subpart I endorsed) for the Continuing Airworthiness management of the aircraft type being operated.
• Ensuring that the aircraft is capable of being managed under a CAA Airworthiness Notice 28 oversight contract.
• Ensuring that the Primary Sub-contractor achieves aircraft certification leading to registration (a) on the UK CAA Register and, (b) the Military Aircraft Register (Def Stan 05-122).
To work with and provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to the Procurement and Sub Contract Management team in respect of the following:
• Scoping the Technical elements of Primary Sub Contract (PSC) documentation to ensure that the Company has an optimized product that will not expose the organisation to Liquidated Damages or Financial Penalties through failure to deliver the contacted service.
• Ensuring that Primary Sub Contractors have a contracted robust supply chain in terms of Total Care Programmes (TCP) or Through Life Support (TLS) packages that are geared to a Power By The Hour cost for the following:
o Engines
o Landing Gears and Sub Assemblies
o Aircraft Mechanical and Avionic components
o Aircraft Special Mission Modifications
Knowledge and Experience
• Previous experience in the acquisition of JAR/EASA approvals for a flight operations business
• Demonstrable ability to work with, and influence the UK IPT, UK CAA, EASA, JAA and FAA
• Demonstrable experience in managing both Base Maintenance and, Line Maintenance operations.
• Demonstrable experience in aircraft acquisition in both Type Certificate (TC) and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) (modified) configurations
• Demonstrable experience in the Flight Test and Evaluation of new and modified aircraft
